our story
Zira was officially founded in Oahu, Hawaii by two gals who are passionate about neuroscience, psychology, self-betterment, and growth. Our founders have been best friends since they met in 2009 and have always known they'd start a business together.

The idea for Zira originated in a dream, which is why our first product - the Guided Dream Journal - is so timely and meaningful. The purpose for founding Zira was to inspire others to be the best version of themselves and to love and appreciate the process of getting there. This idea of igniting our inner lights ultimately led to our name, Zira, which is of African origin and means "moonlight."

Journals are our first product line, but you will soon find that our brand pillar of "growth" applies not only to us humans positively growing by learning and taking action. We also look forward to growing as a brand and introducing elements of our business that we have been excited about since day one. Stay tuned.
